Berlin - transforming

The photographic art project "Transforming", which began in October 2013, reveals the material inheritance of the roughly 3,000 forced labor camps that were active in Berlin and Brandenburg between the years 1939-1945. It addresses the question of the transformation of public and urban spaces through recent history. Based on the research of the German historian Rainer Kubatzki, the project documents the former locations of the camps and thus creates a historical topography of the city of Berlin.
